Saving water is the key

San Jose, CA

Before

The key was to create a simple yet sustainable and elegant landscape that would save water compared to the old existing lawn.

After

The transformation was incredible. As we wait for the drought tolerant lawn to cover the area, we still can enjoy the colorful perennials with low water requirements. We placed a very much wished ‘Strawberry tree’ to provide shade to the front bedrooms, contributing to reduce the temperature inside the house.

The street strip was also enhanced with the so much needed trees to sequester carbon from the atmosphere and reduce the ‘heat island’ that the pavement produces.
